Scrapbook Expo

We hope everyone had a great weekend. If you are in the NJ area, you may have gotten a chance to check out the Scrapbook EXPO at the Garden State Exhibition Center this weekend. We swung by on Friday to see what was going on and saw a few really cool projects.

We saw quite a few make-it-take-its featuring Ranger products like this one that showcased Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads.

ScrapbookExpo_MakeAndTake

And of course, what’s a demo without some Dylusions? Scrapper’s Cove got inky with a few Ink Spray techniques and demoed the new Dylusions Ink Spray Pad.

They had a few amazing samples hanging in their booth as well. This board was hanging up pretty high, but we still managed to snap a pic. What’s really cool are the 2 sand dollars that are stamped with Dylusions Rubber Stamps!

We spotted this sample that used the Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix Bigz Caged Bird Die…

TH_1Then saw these that repurposed the same die to create baskets! So creative!

And then there were Stickles! Lots of Stickles!

Finally, we got a chance to speak with Susan Frase from Clear Scraps who was doing some really cool stuff with their Acrylics and Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks. Look at this sample!

If you love alcohol inks, check out their blog (here’s the link) for more project ideas!

Did any of you get to go to the Scrapbook Expo this year? If so, what did you see that made you say, “Wow!”?

STAMPtember® Special Guest: Wendy Vecchi

Simon Says Stamp

Happy Friday! Everyone know the old saying, “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure.” As you probably know the same can be said for art! Today, Wendy Vecchi is the Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember® Special Guest… in her post, she shows how she made an amazing tag from this piece of manila cardstock that was used to wipe up some excess distress stain a few weeks early that was almost *GASP* thrown away.

September 4th, 2013

distressPaint_BLOG

Ranger and Tim Holtz are pleased to announce the addition of six colors to the Distress Paint product line – Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Dusty Concord, Pumice Stone and Gathered Twigs. Arriving just in time for Fall, this paint palette is sure to add just the right amount of a festive feel to holiday projects.

If you’re a Distress fan (who isn’t), then you probably already own these colors in another product… Ink Pads, Markers, and Stains… and would love to add these to your Distress Paint collection. With that being said, we want to celebrate the launch of these new colors of Distress Paint by giving some away!

To be entered for a chance to win a set of the 6 new colors, use the submission form below to upload a project you created that features Ripe Persimmon, Scattered Straw, Crushed Olive, Dusty Concord, Pumice Stone and/or Gathered Twigs from any other Distress Line! We’ll choose a winner on Monday, September 9th! Good luck and happy crafting!
