Liquid Pearls Love and Luck Card Tips and Techniques Step 1

Instructions to Make Glaze
Step 1: To use Liquid Peals as a paper glaze, squirt Liquid Pearls onto your craft sheet, spray some water from the mister into the Liquid Pearls and mix together with a paint brush. The amount of Liquid Pearls depends on the size of paper you plan to cover.  A dollop about the size of a pea is sufficient for this cardstock card front.  The amount of water you add depends on how thick you want your glaze to be.  The more water you add, the more sheer your glaze will be.

Step 2: The dried glaze will resist ink slightly.  If you prefer an inked edge on your paper elements, you will need to sand the edges lightly before inking to remove a bit of the glaze and expose the cardstock.

Card Instructions
Step 1: Cut one piece of blue cardstock 3 3/4″ wide by 5″ tall.  Create a glaze with White Opal Liquid Pearls and water and brush it onto the cardstock.  After drying the cardstock, sand the edges lightly and brush them with Vintage Photo Distress Ink using an ink blending tool.

Step 2: Die cut a piece of white Sticky-Back Canvas using the Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Styled Labels Die.  Make a glaze using Gold Pearl Liquid Pearls and water and brush it onto the piece of Sticky-Back Canvas.  After drying the canvas, stamp a phrase with Jet Black Archival Ink using the Hero Arts Playful Flowers and Printers Type Lowercase alphabet stamps.  Add Vintage Photo Distress Stain to the edges of the label using an ink blending tool.

Adhere the Sticky-Back Canvas label to the center of the piece of cardstock.  Add two staples to each side of the label using a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher.

Add a stem for the shamrock to the card front by adhering a piece of green ribbon to the card front using 1/8″ Wonder Tape.

Step 3: To create the shamrock, die cut four small hearts from green cardstock using the heart from the Tim Holtz Sizzix Alterations Mini Love Struck Movers & Shapers Set.  Paint each heart with a glaze made from Avocado Liquid Pearls and water.  After drying each heart, sand and ink the edges using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and an Ink Blending Tool. Stack the hearts together and pierce a hole through the tip of all of the hearts.  Pierce a hole through the cardstock card front at the top of the ribbon stem.  Place a brad through the holes in the hearts and card front, flattening it on the back of the cardstock card front. Fan out the hearts into a clover shape.

Adhere the assembled cardstock card front onto the front of a white pre-made card using Inkssentials Collage Glue Stick.  Add machine stitching around the inside edge of the cardstock as a decorative border if desired.
