Faux Wax Seal Craft Project Instructions

Faux Wax Seals

Skill Level: *

A simple and easy way to create envelope seals that look just like melted wax, using Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel. Use the finished seal on cards, envelopes, scrapbook pages and more!

Created by Michelle Harmazinski

Materials List:
Ranger Melting Pot®
Inkssentials™ Non-Stick Craft Sheet
Melt Art™ Kool Toolz™ Spatula
Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel™ (UTEE) - Red Hot
Melt Art™ FLEX™
• Posh Metallic Inkabilities™ - Silver
Glossy Accents™
• Decorative Seal (usually used with wax)

Instructions

(1) Pour Red Hot UTEE into Melting Pot and turn heat to highest setting. Add a half scoop of FLEX for added strength.

(2) When UTEE is melted, pour a quarter-sized amount onto the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. When partially cooled, stamp into it with your wax seal. Let set, then remove.

(3) Pour out a couple drops of Posh Metallic Inkabilities (I used silver) onto your craft sheet. Dab your finger into it and rub over your faux wax seal to highlight raised areas.

(4) Save for later and glue to your envelope with Glossy Accents.

TIPS: This technique is great because you don’t have to worry if you make a mistake right on your envelope like with real wax. You can make these up and glue them to your envelopes later. Great for wedding invitations!
