Blog Header

As you probably know, this weekend was Ranger U. 24 amazing students spent 3 full days here at our headquarters in NJ learning as many techniques as humanly possible in that amount of time. We had a blast sharing our knowledge and products with such an eager bunch. We hope they had an amazing experience as well.

In the coming days, we’ll be sharing some photos and videos we took of the class hard at work, but we wanted to share a couple of shots with you on our blog this morning! Take a look:

Ranger’s Inspired by Tim’s 12 tags of 2013: April

April 12th, 2013

This month’s “Patina Effect” featured on Tim’s April edition of the 12 tags of 2013 is just stunning. A number of us here at Ranger were inspired to incorporate this technique into our own projects this month. Take a look then be sure to head back over to Tim’s Blog to submit your own projects!

1st Birthday Card by Kelly Kronowski

Kelly was inspired to make this yummy and oh so sweet birthday card. To make her cupcake image really pop she stamped the image first with Jet Black ink, then colored the various portions using Distress Paint over the entire image, let it dry, stamped the image in black over top again, and then cut it out.

Dragonfly Keepsake Box by Teresa Natividad

You might have noticed that earlier this month Teresa shared some projects where she upcycled some canisters and bottles into fun storage containers. Well, she’s at it again. This time she recycled an empty 1 x 3 Memory Glass container to make this clever Dragonfly Keepsake Box. What a great presentation for a jewelry gift or other small item.

Love my Pet Frame by Susan Baldwin

Susan tried Tim’s technique on a wood frame. We love how the subtle effect on the wood background makes the embellishments stand out.

Patti was inspired to make this majestic tag.

Colleen Verardi

When we saw Colleen’s project it made us ask, “How did you do that?” We thought you might be thinking the same, so here goes. She masked off various portions of the mirror with a masking tape and a butterfly mask, used Tim’s Distress Paints to make the background, let it dry. Next, she stamped the images and put a thick layer of Rock Candy Crackle over top; let it dry. Then finished off by inking over the top and adding some ephemera and embellishments.

Imagination Tag by Daniela Mozo

Daniela made this pretty tag that sings with the colors of spring.

Seasonal Color Palette: April

April 3rd, 2013

Seasonal Palette: AprilHey bloggers, another month means it is time to be inspired by another Seasonal Color Palette! April is host to Earth day and famous for its showers that bring the Earth back to life in May, so we thought Earthy tones were just perfect for this month.

For our newspaper origami birds, we used Adirondack Color Wash in Butterscotch, Meadow, Espresso, and Sailboat Blue, but as you can see from the vast array of products on display, you can find something in just about every line Ranger offers to create this palette on your own!

Once again, we are opening up InLinkz to you to see your projects that feature our Earthy color palette. We will be accepting submissions until Noon Eastern on Earth Day, which is  Monday, April 22nd. Just like the previous color palette contests, we will divvy up everything in the photo among the winners!

Feel free to create any type of project you like. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

In honor of Earth Day later this month, Ranger’s own Teresa Natividad shows you how to restyle any old container into an attractive storage container using Claudine Hellmuth Stencils and Paints.
