Today I’m sharing a card using Glossy Accents as a resist medium, which creates texture and depth.
Step 1: Ink Simon Hurley Create Watercolor Background stamp with Tim Holtz Salty Ocean Distress Ink, spray with water using Distress Sprayer, and stamp on a Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Panel.
Step 2: Repeat with Tim Holtz Uncharted Mariner Distress Ink, changing the orientation of the cardstock panel when stamping the second time.
Step 3: Stamp coral and jellyfish images from Dina Wakley Media Scribbly Reef Creatures stamp set using Black Archival Ink.
Step 4: Squeeze a small amount of Ranger Glossy Accents onto Ranger Non-stick Craft Sheet and using Simon Hurley Create palette knife, spread glossy accents over portions of the stamped images as well as in random spots around the background, allow to dry.
Step 5: Use Tim Holtz Blending Tool, apply color to the background using Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers, and Uncharted Mariner Distress Inks. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to add additional color and texture to panel.
Step 6: Add texture to the panel: Spritz panel with water using Distress Sprayer. Add splatter to the panel using Salty Ocean and Chipped Sapphire Distress Spray by unscrewing spray top and lightly tapping the ‘stem’ against the handle of a paint brush above the panel to knock droplets off of the stem. Use a paintbrush and Picket Fence Distress Paint thinned with a bit of water to add white splatter to the panel. Using some of the thinned out paint, add horizontal brush strokes to the background. Once panel is dry, ink edges with Black Archival Ink.
Step 7: Assemble card using Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Card for the base. Adhere panel with Foam adhesive. Stamp and emboss sentiment from the Simon Hurley create. Woodland Wildlife stamp set on Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock using Emoss It Ink and Ranger White Embossing Powder.
