A heart created with UTEE™ Brightz™ adds a pop of dimension to this colorful layered tag!
By Bonnie Egenton
Instructions
UTEE Brightz Heart
(1) Pour equal amounts of Clear UTEE and Fuchsia UTEE Brightz in the Melting Pot.
(2) Put lid on top and let melt.
(3) Once melted, add a sprinkle of White UTEE. Let melt.
(4) Carefully mix with the Kool Toolz Spatula.
(5) Pour into heart mold (ice cube tray). Remove once cooled. Tip: Make several hearts at once to use for other projects!
Wrinkle-Free Distress Tags
(1) Rub colors of Distress Ink on the Non-Stick Craft Sheet. Just place the ink next to one another and not on top of one another, as you want to keep the ink colors as pristine as possible.
(2) Spritz ink with water.
(3) Press paper on the inks. Turn over and dry with the Heat Tool. Option: blot the wetter areas with a paper towel, which creates wonderful ink spots and helps the paper dry faster!
(4) Note how the Distress Inks, when wet, create different tones of the same color.
(5) Lightly tap dry inked paper over remaining ink drops on Craft Sheet to build layers of color. Dry with Craft Tool.
(6) Repeat until desired look is achieved.
(7) Spritz water into your hand and flick onto inked tags. Let sit for approximately 10 seconds, allowing the water to lighten/remove ink to create a color lifted effect with a paper towel.
Finishing the Project
(1) On smaller tag, stamp image with Archival Jet Black ink. Let dry.
(2) On stamped image, fill in “paint pots” and edge of “paint brush” with Adirondack Acrylics. Let dry. Tip: Use generously and swirl in a circular motion. These paints were designed for dimensional use and will add a realistic look to the image!
(3) Cut out red cardstock ¼” larger than the small tag to frame. Attach to small tag. Layer red “tag” to large tag.
(4) Attach UTEE Brightz heart to front of tag with Wonder Tape.
(5) Punch hole through all tags and attach fibers.
