Technique by Claudine Hellmuth

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 1

Step 1: Place a quarter-sized puddle of Modern Red paint onto your Craft Sheet. Tap the Jumbo bird foam stamp into the puddle and tap all around to distribute paint evenly across the foam stamp.

Step 2: Here you can see the “orange peel texture” of paint that should be on your stamp. It should be even but not dripping with giant blobs of paint. this will ensure a nice even stamp!

Step 3: Stamp bird onto a piece of White Sticky-Back Canvas.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 4

Step 4: Mist your stamp heavily with water using the mister. then wipe with a baby wipe or paper towel. to remove excess paint. you will want to do this whenever you are finished stamping with acrylic paint so it doesn’t dry on your stamp.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 5

Step 5: Place another puddle of Blank Canvas paint onto your craft sheet. this time we are using the small dots from the Domestic foam stamp collection.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 6

Step 6: Add the paint to your foam stamp just like we did with the bird stamp earlier. Check your stamp for even coverage and then stamp the dots all over your bird. you may need to add paint to your stamp as you go.

Step 7: Next,  we are going to stamp this foam stamp from the Doodle collection using Landscape Green Paint.

Step 8: Stamp onto a sheet of old music paper.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 9

Step 9: Now we’re going to add the black outlines. Place your the Jumbo Bird Clear Stamp onto an acrylic block. Here I am using a Rock-A-Block which makes it easy to acheive a clear stamped image. Ink up your stamp using Archival Ink in Jet Black.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 10

Step 10: Roll the Rock-a-block over the bird image that we created earlier. you want to only roll once, not back and forth as this can make double lines.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 11

Step 11: Ink up the branch stamp from the Jumbo Nature Clear set and stamp across the bottom of your card, also using Jet Black Archival Ink.

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 12

Step 12: Cut out and glue on the green doodle in the upper left corner of the card using Multi-Medium

Creative Layers Bird Card Step 13

Step 13: Cut out the bird from the Sticky-Back Canvas, remove the paper backing and adhere on top of the branch.

For a finishing touch add words taken from an old book, and glue these on with Multi-Medium.
