Ranger’s Accent product line of 3-dimensional clear mediums can be used to create wonderful effects on craft projects. Below is some helpful information about the unique features of each product in the Accents line, and some Tips and Techniques on how to use them.

Glossy Accents™

A dimensional, gloss medium that dries to a hard, clear, shiny, and resistant finish. Use on cardstock, metal, plastic, glass and wood.

Crackle Accents™

Crackle Accents is a one-step, dimensional, gloss medium that dries to a cracked finish. Create crackled looks on most porous surfaces such as cardstock and wood.

Features:

• Acid free and non-toxic
• Dries to a hard, clear resistant finish
• Works as a clear glue
• Fine needle nose tip bottle top for precise application

Techniques:

• Use to accent a portion of a card or scrapbook page. The fine tip allows for precise application to any area of the project where dimension is desired.
• Perfect for chipboard die cuts!
• Use for bottle cap art. Place a photo or clip art in bottom of bottle cap – use a drop of any Accents to adhere to bottle cap. Let dry for a few minutes. Completely cover the artwork with one of the Accents and let dry. The artwork will be encased in the clear dimensional medium.
• Use to adhere items in an altered art or mixed media project, especially heavier items such as chipboard.
• Use Crackle Accents with a paint brush over wood to create a fine, clear crackled glaze. This looks especially interesting brushed over Distress™ Inks, Adirondack® Dye Inks, or Adirondack® Acrylic Paint Dabbers that have been applied to the wood.
• Create realistic looking dew drops on silk flowers with Glossy Accents.
• Cut scrapbook paper or stamped paper into small pieces to fit into bracelet blanks. Glue in with any Accents and then cover each piece of paper with Accents for a pretty, unique bracelet. See the different effects you can achieve by making 1 bracelet with the same paper for each of the Accents – they all have a different look!

Tips:

• Always start flow of Accents on scrap paper to push out any air bubbles that may be trapped in the needle nose tip.
• To prevent air bubbles in the project once application of Accents has started, continue filling the area with Accents without lifting the tip off of the surface.
• If air bubbles do occur, pop or drag to the edge of the project with a pin.
• Clean needle nose tip between uses to prevent drying. If the tip does dry, simply clear with a pin. Do not cut the needle-nose applicator down to clear out any clogged material.
• Always replace cap between uses.
• Drying time for a project will vary depending upon the thickness of Accents used. For small, shallow areas, allow about 30 minutes. For large or deeply filled areas allow to dry for several hours or overnight.
• Some decorative papers may release colorants from the paper into Accents. Test on small area of paper to see the effect before applying to final project.
• Cardstock or a heavier surface works best. The extended drying time of this dimensional medium may wrinkle delicate papers if those papers are not already adhered to a heavier surface.
• When using over die cuts, always test a small area first. Not all die cuts are coated with a protective layer when printed. If not coated, the inks on the die cut may run.
