Alcohol Ink Journal Tags by Cheiron Brandon

Hi there! It’s Cheiron here and today I am going to share a set of tags that I made with Alcohol Ink backgrounds using Dina’s Oops Oh Well stamp set. I love all of the sayings in the set so much and the moon faces that go with them, so I turned them into a set of tags with beautiful Alcohol Ink backgrounds. Sometimes I keep these tags in a bin in my studio, but these would also be perfect to share with crafty friends!

Instructions

Step 1: To create the Alcohol Ink Backgrounds, start by cutting tags out of Yupo paper with a Tim Holtz Tag die.

Step 2: To add some interest and texture to the painted panel, I placed the Mesh stencil over it and removed some of the paint through the stencil with a baby wipe.

Step 3: Here’s what the tags look like when they are done. These were my 3 favorite combos, I will share each of them with you in the photos below.

Step 4: Alcohol Inks: Aqua, Clover, Cool Peri, Turquoise

Step 5: Alcohol Inks: Currant, Purple Twilight, Raspberry

Step 6: Alcohol Inks: Flamingo, Peach Bellini, Shell Pink

Step 7: To decorate the tags, I used the Tim Holtz stamp platform to stamp the images and the sentiments from the Oops Oh Well stamp set.

Step 8: The moon faces were stamped in Cactus Flower, Saffron, and Garden Patina.

Step 9: The sentiments were stamped in black, with the edges of the sentiment inked to match the face color for each tag.

Step 10: Stamp the Dina Wakley Media Tape in Coordinating Colors and apply to the tags, then layer the faces and sentiments onto the tags using collage medium.

Step 11: Color some crinkle ribbon with Distress Inks in Wild Honey, Candied Apple, Seedless Preserves, Mermaid Lagoon and tie to each tag.

Now you have some fun tags of your own to keep or give away.
