Hello creative friends! Winter has definitely arrived in my part of the world so I felt inspired to create a page dedicated to my favorite activity for this weather… staying home! The Dylusions shimmer sprays and stencils are perfect for capturing that icy cold feeling right in your journal and I hope this inspires you to snuggle up and start creating.
Step 1: Open your Dylusions Classics Journal to a blank mixed media page that has a kraft page right before it. Spray puddles of Dylusions Ink Spray in Laidback Lilac and Dylusions Shimmer Sprays in Periwinkle Blue and White Linen all over your page.
Step 2: Sprinkle coarse salt all over your page while the ink is still wet. Allow to dry completely then rub off the excess salt. The salt will absorb small amounts of the spray and create an icy, wintery texture!
Step 3: With a mini ink blending tool, apply Dylusions Flip Cap Paint in White Linen through the Large Snowflake Stencil.
Step 4: After the mixed media page is dry, repeat step 3 onto the kraft page just before it.
Step 5: Paint an approximately ¾ inch border around the kraft page with Dylusions Flip Cap Paint in Periwinkle Blue. Splatter a bit of Periwinkle Blue on your page as well.
Step 6: Cut out the following images from Dylusions Collage Sheets Set 3 and quote from Dylusions Bigger Back Chat White Set 4, then glue the images and quote to the kraft page.
Step 7: With a white pen, use the Dylusions Large On Point Stencil to trace diamond shapes inside the border of your kraft page
Step 8: Using a craft knife, cut out the diamond shapes you traced. You can leave spaces that are uncut for an interesting window effect peeking through to the next page. Note: Be sure to use your Dylusions Cutting Mat behind your page while cutting.
Step 9: Use a white paint pen to add details like dots around your border and to frame out your diamond shapes. Use Dylusions Designer Series Stickles in Stardust to add some sparkle to her dress and around the quote to complete your wintery layout!
