The holidays bring the maker in all of us, suddenly we need to create, and sometimes what we have done needs a special packaging. Something that conveys just how special the recipient is and how much love you put into creating what’s inside. When you create the packaging you can customize it with stamps, stencils, paint, ink. There’s really no limits into embellishing it. So let’s deconstruct some journaling tags and add a notch to the things you can do with the amazing Dylusions Journaling tags, best thing is you only need 3!

Step 1: Grab your tags and center them on a scoring table, score at 2 3/8 on each side, on all 3 tags vertically.

Step 2: Horizontally score your tags at  4 ½ and 9” respectively.

Step 3: Fold and cut notches wherever you see a mark intersecting.

Step 4: Since you already have two tags that will serve as the body of the box, you will cut the third into 2 pieces of  4 ½ x 4 ½.

Step 5:  Using your chosen stencil, fill it up with the yummy Distress Grit-Paste! I took a photo of the placement of your stencil just so you’re able to see that some will look backward, but when you fold the complete box they will align perfectly and nothing will look out of place!

Step 6: Time to assemble the piece, I wanted the top of the tag as my closure since that gave me the opportunity to thread a ribbon and stamp a sentiment!

Step 7:  After you thread your ribbon and some charms into a jump ring, using your Distress Crayon paint the words on your charm, then wipe off the excess, I tell you I can’t get over how easy and effective this quick little technique is! Plus there are so many colors to choose!!!

Can you imagine making sweet tiny boxes with the same technique and smaller tags!!! Happy creating everyone!
