Adding the simplest little detail can make all the difference on a journal page. Make your Dy-Cuts work for you. 

Step 1: Turn to a double page spread in your small Black Creative Journal. 

Step 2: Find the haunted house dy-cut from your Dylusions Dy-Cuts, Me Houses. Place it as shown on the right page. You may either trace it using pencil or use non-permanent adhesive to temporarily hold it in place while you work.  

Step 3: Write out your Halloween quote using the White Linen Paint Pen. The quote used here reads: 

If one door closes and another door opens…your house is probably haunted.  

Step 4: Remove your image and place the large Webs stencil onto your two pages. Avoiding your quote add some Balmy Nights Shimmer paint in the middle area of the stencil. 

Step 5: Next add some Black Marble Shimmer Paint around the outer area of the page through the Webs stencil. 

Step 6: Using a knife or scissors cut the door on your dy-cut so it can swing open. 

Step 7: Find the monster dy-cut in the Dylusions Dy Cuts, Me Monsters package and cut it as shown in the picture.  

Step 8: Adhere the house to your page and add little eyes to the cut piece and glue it behind the door. Now you have a little ghost peeking out.  

Step 9: Sometimes your project is complete and you are feeling quite happy with how it turned out. Then you notice a spelling mistake!!! It happens, often. Notice the word ‘probaly’, it should be spelled ‘probably’. 

Step 10: Do we need to start over? Is our page ruined? No. There’s an easy fix. Just take a piece of black cardstock and place it over the area that needs to be fixed. Write the letters out properly making it flow with what’s already there. Here the ‘l’ is used for the downstroke of the letter ‘b’. When it’s written correctly cut around your correct letters making sure to cut it big enough to cover the error on your journal page. Then adhere it over your mistake. All is fixed and looking fine! 

It’s nice to know that you don’t have to tear the pages from your book and start over when you have made a mistake. Remember this is your journal, it doesn’t have to be perfect. You should just have fun when creating your pages!
