Dylusions To Don't Art Journal Planner Spread by Milagros Rivera

Milagros Rivera uses the new Diddy Stamp Collection by Dyan Reaveley to create this eye-catching planner spread in the Dylusions Creative Journal.

Instructions

There’s a new and exciting release by Dyan Reaveley that is going to bring to life your agendas and calendars!  I didn’t want to make this into a calendar page. I wanted to convey how time runs so fast in our lives that we almost can’t keep up. Sometimes the days run by and we’re overwhelmed by where they went. Or maybe you just want to show time who’s boss independent of how fast or slow it’s moving.

Step 1: Begin by stamping your composition. I like to stamp direct into my journal page, Dylusions Journals have the best pages to paint. It’s easier to work the clear stamps because you can see what’s underneath.

Step 2: Once I have all my images stamped I proceed to paint my background with ink. I like doing that with a watercolor brush to get into tight spaces around the stamped images. I also like to dip my brush in water between inking to get a graduation of the color. I use my brush freely and sometimes mistakes happen like over her shoe. There’s always a fix for that don’t fret!

Step 3: Load your paint on a Blending Tool and go over the ink with it. There’s a fabulous chemistry that goes on between the paper, the ink, and the paint. I call it magic. I did London Blue in random spots and then went over it with Crushed Grape.

Step 4: I sometimes cut my journal pages to stamp in Dylusions paper. I realized the size I had was perfect to add a calendar block, so j continued my page to the right and did the same process:

  1. Stamp
  2. Ink
  3. Stencil

Step 5: This is the other side. I’m pretty sure if I would had planned it it would not had happened. The piece was just the right size!
