Every Moment Matters by Cassie Lynch

Hello-Today I am sharing a beautiful autumn-inspired card I made using Wendy Vecchi inks, stamps, and stencil.

Instructions

Step 1: Cut a piece of Mixed Media Heavystock to 4 x 5 ¼ inches. Using Wendy Vecchi Make Art Blendable Dye Ink colors Sunflower, Orange Blossom, Garden Patina and Acorn. Blend the colors on the cardstock with a Ink Blending Tool starting with the lightest color and ending with acorn. Blend until you like your results.

Step 2: Ink the Wendy Vecchi splatter background stamp with Coffee Archival Ink and stamp it onto the cardstock.

Step 3: Next, ink the measure slip stamp from the Just Sew Artsy stamp set with Coffee ink and stamp it on the cardstock.

Step 4: I love crackle paste. I use it quite often on my cards. Don’t let it scare you. It’s very easy to use. For this card I used the honeycomb stencil. Using a palette knife spread the paste over the stencil. If you can’t see your stencil through the paste you’ve probably put on too much. Just scrape the excess away with your knife. While waiting for it to dry wash off your stencil and knife with water. The paste dries quickly and you’ll magically see the cracks appear.

Step 5: Stamp the flower from the Beauty of Art stamp set with Black Archival ink onto the cardstock three times.

Step 6: Color the flower by applying Sunflower Blendable Dye ink with a Mini Ink Blending Tool. Add shading using a Detail Blending Tool and ink colors Orange Blossom and Red Geranium. For the leaves I used Blendable Dye Ink colors Prickly Pear, Fern Green and Garden Patina.

Step 7: Fussy cut two complete flowers. With the remaining flower cut a couple of the leaves off and just part of the flower. I popped the partially cut flower parts using Ranger Black Adhesive Foam Tape.

Step 8: The sentiment used on my card is from the Wendy Vecchi Artful Life set. Stamp it twice, once with Black Archival ink and once with Garden Patina. Cut out the word moment and glue it over the matching word on the piece stamped with Black. To tone down the cardstock color go over it with a Distress Tool and Acorn Ink.

Step 9: The border is from the Just Sew Artsy stamp set. Again, using Coffee Archival Ink stamp the border onto the card.

Step 10: Adhere the flowers and Wendy Vecchi mat mini stars to the card using Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive. This is my all time favorite adhesive. It NEVER clogs and it gives me a couple seconds of wiggle time to get my pieces in the right place.

Thank you taking the time to check out my tutorial. Now in the words of Wendy Vecchi “make art”!
