InstructionsÂ
Whether you're hosting a Halloween party or expecting neighborhood Trick-or-Treaters, these little bags are just a tiny bit different than the standard favor; they can hold candy OR non-edible treats like stickers and small toys.
Step 1: Gather Materials: Archival Inks in Aubergine, Sea Grass, Monarch Orange, Shadow Grey and Jet Black; Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste; Liquid Pearls in Outrageous, Succulent, Hydrangea, White Opal and Pewter; Letter It Polka Dotting stencil and Loves stamp set; Dylusions Stencil It Too stencils; Simon Hurley create Fall Sampler stamps and Happy Hearts stencil set; plain white treat bags and white cotton ribbon from the big box store.

Step 2: Use Aubergine Archival Ink to stencil the spider web from Dylusions' Stencil It Too stencil onto a panel of white MAKE ART Perfect Cardstock.

Step 3: Apply a generous coating of Ranger Transparent Gloss Texture Paste over the stenciled web, taking care to smooth it neatly. Peel the stencil off immediately and clean it and your Paste Tools with soap and water. Set the web panel aside on a flat surface and allow to dry completely, preferably overnight. (Note that the wet paste is white and your inked panel will look slightly cloudy, but when dry the paste will be clear and your ink color will be unaffected.) When the panel is completely dry, trim off the excess white cardstock and mat on black.

Step 4: Use Ranger's Stickles Confetti Template and Liquid Pearls to create a bunch of enamel dots. Colors shown here are: Outrageous, Succulent, Hydrangea, White Opal and Pewter. Working on the MAKE ART Stay-tion, with the magnets securing the template, is a good idea so that at the end, you can tap the Stay-tion sharply on your table to avoid pointy tops on your dots. Set the template aside on a flat surface and allow the dots to dry completely, preferably overnight.

Step 5: Using Monarch Orange Archival Ink, stamp the two largest solid pumpkins from the Simon Hurley create Fall Sampler stamp set onto a scrap of white cardstock. Cut the pumpkins out neatly with scissors, leaving a small border of white all around; or use the coordinating die set.

Step 6: Stamp "Happy Halloween" from the Fall Sampler set in Jet Black Archival on a scrap of white cardstock. Trim each word into a neat rectangle and mat on scraps of black cardstock.

Step 7: Using the larger hearts from the Simon Hurley create Happy Hearts stencil set, stencil a few hearts in Shadow Grey, Aubergine, Sea Grass and Monarch Orange. Cut them out neatly with scissors leaving a thin border of white all around.

Step 8: Use a bone folder to create a sharp crease about 2" from the top of a plain white treat bag, so that it can be folded down. Mask off the rest of the bag and apply Sea Grass Archival through Letter It's Polka Dotting stencil.

Step 9: Trim a piece of plain white ribbon to 15" and affix it firmly to the Stay-tion with the included magnets. Stamp the XOXO from Letter It's Loves stamp set in Jet Black Archival using the Stay-tion's grid to space them evenly. Stamp the small solid heart from the same set between each set of letters, in Sea Grass, Aubergine and Monarch Orange.

Step 10: Assembly: Center the glossy spider web panel on the bag and add the pumpkins, sentiment, a stamped heart and a few of the enamel dots you made in Step 4. Fill the bag with small treats, then fold the stenciled panel over and use a hole punch to make two holes, approximately half an inch apart, that go through the flap and the bag. Thread your stamped ribbon through the holes and tie in a neat bow, trimming the ends if necessary.

Step 11: Make a few more colorful treat bags in coordinating colors, so you'll have plenty of treats (and NO TRICKS!) for Halloween!
