Instructions

Simon Hurley create. Happy Birthday Card Step 1

Step 1: You can use your stamps in unexpected ways with a little imagination and thinking outside the box! To start off this card, you can use the ‘Painted Lines’ background stamp as a template to create your own fence. Stamp this along the bottom of an A2 sized piece of Stark White card stock. Use Woof! Dye Ink if you don’t want black lines outlining the fence.

Step 2: Mask off the top of your fence and stamp out the three critters from Space Training. Remove the mask and draw in some adorable paws – the wonkier, the better! This will give the card the appearance that the animals are peering over the fence to look at the recipient!

Step 3: Use your favorite coloring medium to create a fence across the bottom of your card. If you’re not into coloring, you can use the ‘Splinter’ background and do some ink blending with Woof Ink. Go ahead and color in your critters as well. Color the sky background with the same coloring medium or do some ink blending with your favorite inks to create the night sky.

Step 4: Use the Dylusions Paint Pen in White to add ‘stars’ to your background. This is as easy as tapping the tip of the paint pen on to your background repeatedly until you have the number and density of stars you like!

Step 5: Using Perfect Medium on black card stock, stamp out ‘happy birthday’ from Bestest Friends. Pour on your Ranger White Embossing Powder, put the excess back in the jar and melt it with your Heat Tool. Don’t forget to treat your surface with the Anti-Static Pouch to prevent any stray embossing powder sticking where you don’t want it. Repeat this step with the ‘jumping by to say…’ stamp from Trampoline Friends. For this sentiment, go ahead and stamp directly on to your fence in the center of the card.

Step 6: Cut the black sentiment strip down to size and adhere it directly to the card panel. Mount the card panel on a white A2 sized card base. On the inside of your card, stamp out ‘you deserve a treat’ from the Dudes Too! stamp set in Woof ink.
