Hey Dad Card by Jess Francisco

Get ready for Father's Day and follow along as Jess Francisco shares how she creates this "Hey Dad" Card Tutorial using the Simon Hurley create. Dudes Too! Stamp set!

Instructions

Jess Francisco Hey Dad Card Step 1

Step 1: Grab an acrylic block and place the ‘hey’ stamp from Dudes Too on your block. Use Woof! Dye Ink to stamp ‘hey’ repeatedly across the top and left sides of a piece of white card stock (4x5.25). On a separate piece of cardstock, stamp out an additional ‘hey’ in Bee Sting Dye Ink and cut this out in the form of a speech bubble.

Step 2: Stamp out the body image with the arms sticking out to both sides in the lower left corner of your cardstock. On a separate piece of cardstock, stamp the head image of the boy with glasses. Color the body and the head using your preferred coloring medium, then cut out the head to be added on top of the body on your card.

Step 3: Using the small circular gel plate from the Assorted Gel Plate pack, stamp the ‘dude’ sentiment in black ink. Be sure you clean your gel plate thoroughly as anything on the plate will transfer to your cardstock. Try not to move the stamp as it will smudge. Lift the stamp off carefully and clean off the ‘e’ at the end of ‘dude’. This should leave you with ‘DUD.’ Flip the gel plate over and rotate it 180 degrees – stamp this down on to your card stock in the lower right hand corner, leaving around half an inch for a sentiment strip at the bottom. Use a black pen to draw in the horizontal line to turn your U into an A. Magic!

Step 4: Using the Make Art STAY-tion, heat emboss the sentiment ‘you’re the best’ in Ranger White Embossing Powder. You can use the Ranger Non-Stick Craft Sheet and the magnets from the STAY-tion to hold your card stock in place while you emboss. Adhere the head, speech bubble, and sentiment strip to your card front.

Step 5: Mat your cardstock with a piece of black card stock and then mount your card front to an A2 sized card base (4.25x5.5). You’re done! Give this silly card to your Dad for Father’s Day and watch him smile, thinking fondly of the 9 million times you’ve yelled ‘hey dad!’ over the years.
