Make-It™ Dimensional Waves Beach Card by Miriam Prantner

Catch those summer vibes! Miriam Prantner created this fresh and dimensional beach-inspired card using the Make It Wavy Lines Stencil, Beach Vibes Stamp Set, Distress Inks, Ranger Texture Paste, and more! The layered waves have so much movement and texture, creating the perfect seaside feel for sunny season sending.

Even better? This fun design comes together in just 5 simple steps, making it an easy project for creating quick summer cards with lots of impact. 


Instructions 

Today’s card showcases some of the new Make-It product. In particular, I’m sharing how to get a very dimensional wave look by combining ink and paste.

Step 1: Place Make-It Stencil Wavy Lines over a Cardstock White Panel and ink with Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Salty Ocean using the Mini Ink Blending Tool. Shift stencil slightly, and repeat using Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Uncharted Mariner and then Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pad Broken China.

Step 2: Shift stencil again, and apply Ranger Texture Paste Transparent Matte using Simon Hurley Create Paste Tool. Note that I did not clean my stencil prior to spreading paste. This allowed the paste to pick up a bit of the color and adds some interest. Allow panel to dry.

Step 3: Cut apart dried stenciled panel along a couple of the paste lines. This will allow creation of layers of for the card, set aside.

Step 4: On a separate panel, stamp sun from the Make-It Clear Stamp Set Beach Vibes with Ranger Emboss It Ink Pad Clear, and emboss with Distress Mustard Seed Embossing Glaze. Stamp sentiment using Ranger Archival Ink Pad Jet Black, and clear emboss with Ranger Embossing Powder Clear Super Fine Detail.

Step 5: Assemble card. Adhere stenciled water piece to stamped/embossed panel, popping front piece up with adhesive foam. Use a Ranger Artist Brush to pull color from Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Pencil Fossilized Amber, in order to paint embossed sun image. Adhere completed panel to Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Card.
