Hello crafty friends! As I have shared before, Christmas is my favorite time of the year! So – today’s card tutorial is an excuse to make yet another Christmas card!! This one features the new Winter Scene Maker stencil and Cookie Dough Lunar Paste from Simon Hurley’s latest release. I really enjoyed making this card! And I hope it gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!
Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White Card Stock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 4¼” then scoring it at 5½”. Next, trim the front panel piece out of Stark White cardstock measuring 5¼ x 4”.
Step 2: Use Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART station and its magnets to hold one of the stencils from the Winter Scene set (the one with the trees) and the front panel piece. Then use Viper and Fake Plant Inks to ink the trees.
Step 3: Next, use the other stencil from the Winter Scene set (the one with the houses) and use Bee Sting and Game Over to ink the house in front of the trees from step 2.
Step 4: Then flip the stencil with the houses – the one with the doors and window openings for the houses. Use your fingers (or a small applicator) to apply some Cookie Dough Lunar Paste to create the windows and doors.
Step 5: Then, use the stencils to cover the trees and houses from steps 2, 3, and 4. Next, using the mini blending tool, ink the rest of the background to create a night sky using No Diving, Midnight Snack, and Crown Me inks.
Step 6: Use the stencil that has the snow scene and apply Metallic White Texture Paste to make a snowfall scene.
Step 7: On a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock, heat emboss and die cut a sentiment from the Retro Holiday stamp and die set. Die cut extra pieces to add dimension to the sentiment. Then, glue the sentiment onto the front panel piece.
Step 8: Use Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Perfect Card Adhesive to glue the front panel piece onto the card base.
Step 9: Pair the card to a complimentary envelope and the card is ready to be sent to a loved one this holiday season.
