Hi, crafty friends! I had so much fun making this Christmas card using Simon Hurley’s Christmas Silhouettes stamp set and Stitched Snowflakes background stamp. I also used some of my favorite color combos from Simon Hurley’s growing ink collection. I hope you have fun learning from this tutorial!
Step 1: Create an A2 card base out of Stark White Cardstock. Cut the 8½ x 11 cardstock at 5½ and then score at 4¼. Cut another piece measuring 4 x 5¼.
Step 2: On the 4 x 5¼ cardstock panel, color blend the background with Breakup Blue and Prom Queen inks from Simon Hurley. Then use Midnight Snack and Crown Me around the edges of the front panel.
Step 3: Apply a thin layer of Clear Skies Lunar Paste onto Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte. Then stamp Simon Hurley create. Background Stamp Stitched Snowflakes onto the Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte. This cardstock can be put aside for later use. Whatever is left of the Lunar Paste on the Stitched Snowflakes stamp, lightly spritz some water onto the stamp, and stamp it onto the front panel that was inked from Step 2.
Step 4: After the Lunar Paste has dried on the front panel, apply some Taffy Liquid Pearls on the center of the snowflakes.
Step 5: Trim a piece of pearlescent vellum to 2¼ x 5¼ and heat emboss one of the images from Simon Hurley’s Christmas Silhouettes stamp set using Emboss It Ink Pad Clear, Embossing Powder Super Fine White, and the Ranger Heat It Craft Tool.
Step 6: Tape each end of the vellum with Letter It Double Stick Tape and tape the vellum piece around the front panel cardstock.
Step 7: Trim a piece of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte measuring around 4 x 5¼. Glue this piece to the card base using Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive.
Step 8: Tape the front panel using White Adhesive Foam Tape and glue it to the card base.
Step 9: Heat emboss a sentiment from Simon Hurley’s Christmas Silhouettes stamp set on a piece of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Cardstock Black Matte and glue it to the card panel using Letter It Clear Foam Roll Tape.
