For today’s project, I’m working with embossing powders that sparkle. I love Ranger’s tinsel line of embossing powders and used them in several ways to create a St. Patrick’s Day themed card.
Step 1: Place Cutout Alpha stencil over a piece of watercolor cardstock and spread Opaque Matte Texture Paste through the stencil. You don’t need to spread paste through the whole stencil, just over the letters you’ll use for your sentiment. Remove stencil. Sprinkle Green Tinsel embossing powder over the paste.
Step 2: Emboss with heat gun. The heat will cause the texture paste to puff up for added dimension. Cut out the embossed letters for your sentiment and set aside.
Step 3: Trim watercolor cardstock to 5” x 3 3/4” and brush (rather than press) Emboss It ink pad directly on the cardstock.
Step 4: Sprinkle Lime Tinsel embossing powder over cardstock panel. Use dry paint brush to adjust coverage as you wish and heat emboss. Repeat steps 3 and 4 with Green Tinsel embossing powder.
Step 5: Stamp frame and clover from Curiosity Shop stamp set with Emboss It ink. For the frame, press firmly so that the open center of the image stamps as well. Emboss frame with Lime Tinsel and clover with Green Tinsel, and then fussy cut. Emboss hello sentiment from Curiosity Shop with Green Tinsel and cut out.
Step 6: Assemble card using Kraft cardstock for the base, and adhering individual elements with foam adhesive for dimension.
