Tinsel Embossing Powder Valentine's Day Card by Miriam Prantner

All the sparkle, all the love! This Valentine’s card by Miriam Prantner shines with Ranger Tinsel Embossing Powders, bringing serious shimmer and texture to the design. She paired them with Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink Pads—not just for blending, but also as embossing ink. Finished with Tim Holtz Stamps, this card is the perfect mix of grunge, glow, and heartfelt style.

Instructions

Today I’m sharing my favorite hack for Tinsel Embossing Powders, using them with Distress Oxide Inks. These inks are sticky and hold onto the embossing powder, and the underlying color ensures that your embossed image is solid. In addition, using this combination of products on Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock results in an almost velvety look.

Step 1: Place Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Heartstruck Layering Stencil over a panel of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock, hold in place with masking tape. Ink with Picked Raspberry and Candied Apple Distress Oxide on a diagonal.

Step 2: Sprinkle Ranger Pink Tinsel and Red Tinsel Embossing Powders over inked area, overlapping a bit in the center, heat emboss.

Step 3: Stamp heart from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamp Valentine Silhouettes with Candied Apple Distress Oxide ink.

Step 4: Apply Ranger Red Tinsel Embossing Powder over stamped image, heat emboss and fussy cut. Repeat steps 3 and 4 using sketched heart from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamp Love Struck and Ranger Pink Tinsel Embossing Powder.

Step 5: Assemble card: Adhere stenciled background to Wendy Vecchi Perfect Cardstock White Card. Add sentiment, from Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous Cling Mount Stamp Floristry embossed with Ranger Red Embossing Powder, using foam adhesive. Adhere sketched heart to solid heart with foam adhesive, and then adhere to card using foam adhesive.
