Wendy's Let's Shop Set is perfect for making adorable shopping-bag-shaped gift card holders, but by adding two additional pieces to the sides, it can easily expand into a basket which can hold a small gift, candies or anything else you'd like to bestow upon a special someone!
Step 1: Stamp the large flower cluster from Wendy Vecchi's A Million Thanks Stamp, Die and Stencil set three times on Ranger White Heavystock: once in Rosey Posey Archival Ink; once in English Ivy, and once in Prickly Pear.
Step 2: Use the coordinating stencil and a Mini Ink Blending Tool with Domed Foam to color the Rosey Posey flower with a very light coat of Pink Peony Archival; then color just the large leaves and stem of the English Ivy cluster with Prickly Pear Archival.
Step 3: Use the coordinating die to diecut the Prickly Pear flower cluster. Use scissors to neatly cut out the flower from the pink cluster and the large leaves and stem from the English Ivy cluster. Using Wendy Vecchi Perfect Card Adhesive, affix the darker leaves to the diecut Prickly Pear cluster. Add the pink flower to the same diecut with Letter It Clear Foam Roll Tape. Set aside.
Step 4: Diecut the shopping bag from Wendy Vecchi's Let's Shop Stamp, Die and Stencil set four times from Dina Wakley Kraft Cardstock. Trim two of the bags straight across, so that they measure 2.5" from the bottom edge (you'll be discarding the top half of those two bags). Use the coordinating striped stencil and the Mini Ink Blending Tool to add diagonal lines across the entire bag in Goldenrod Archival Ink. Flip the stencil and repeat in the other direction so that you have a lattice pattern in Goldenrod. Shift the same stencil and carefully position it at the edge of the Goldenrod stripes, and add a second set of lattices in Pink Peony Archival. Repeat this step until both full-sized bags and both half-sized bags are covered with a double set of lattices, which resemble a basket weave pattern.
Step 5: Use a ruler and a gel pen to add criss-crossed white accents to all four of the basket pieces, placing the white lines between the Goldenrod and Pink Peony stripes on each. Set aside.
Step 6: On scraps of white heavystock, stamp the Plumeria flower from Wendy Vecchi's Floral Doodle Stamp Set twice in Fern Green Archival, and twice in Peachy Keen. Stamp the vine branches from A Million Thanks three or four times each in Prickly Pear Archival. Stamp the butterfly from A Million Thanks once in Peachy Keen.
Step 7: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Domed Foams to apply Prickly Pear Archival all over the green flowers and leaves. Cut out the entire flower with scissors. Apply Buttercup Archival to the Peachy Keen Flowers and neatly cut them out with scissors, discarding the leaves.
Step 8: Use the coordinating vine and butterfly dies to diecut those pieces. Mount the yellow flowers on top of the green ones with foam tape. Add small rhinestones to the centers of the flowers, if desired.
Step 9: Trim a piece of white heavystock to 4.5 x 3.5" and cover it with neat strips of the widest pastel tape from Wendy Vecchi's Washi Assortment (Set 1). Score the covered cardstock at the halfway point to create a portrait-oriented mini card that measures 2.25 x 3.5". Set aside.
Step 10: Use Perfect Card Adhesive to attach the tabs of the "basket" pieces to each other, alternating the full-sized and half-sized pieces. Trim a scrap of Dina Wakley Kraft Cardstock to approximately 2.25" square and round the corners.
Step 11: When all four sides of the basket are assembled and the adhesive is dry, affix the small square piece inside the basket to give it a solid bottom.
Step 12: Working with the completed basket in front of you, use Perfect Card Adhesive and small pieces of foam tape to affix all of the flowers to the top of the minicard, so that they can be seen when the card is placed inside the basket. Start by adding the large lily cluster to the left side of the card, then attach a plumeria to the right side, then fit the small vine pieces and the butterfly in and around the existing flowers.
Step 13: Add the mini card to the basket, tuck in small candies and a gift card if desired. Add additional flowers, foliage and ribbon to the outside of the basket. Hide this tiny Easter Basket where your favorite little bunny is sure to find it!
