FAQs

What is the difference between Stickles Glitter Glue, Stickles Glitter Gel, Tim Holtz Distress Glitter and Liquid Pearls?

Stickles Glitter Glue: Translucent glue with fine glitter suspended. Apply directly from the bottle for precise placement. It dries flat and the glue disappears, leaving just the sparkle. So, there’s no loose glitter.

Stickles Glitter Gel: Spreadable glitter blends with various size and shapes of glitter.  Ideal for application with a palette knife for heavier coverage.

Tim Holtz Distress Glitter: Loose, dry glitter in a vintage-inspired palette. Requires an adhesive base (like Collage Medium) to stick.

Liquid Pearls: Dimensional, pearlescent paint ideal for applying dots or lines with subtle sheen, not traditional glitter sparkle.

Can I mail a card with Stickles or glitter on it?

Yes. Once Stickles Glitter Glue is dry, it is safe to put through the mail and the glitter will stay intact.

Here are some tips:

  1. Let it dry fully (several hours to overnight for heavy coverage)
  2. Avoid placing glitter on fold lines
  3. Consider a protective sleeve or placing the card face-in

For loose glitter, seal with a medium or top coat before mailing to prevent shedding.

What is the difference between Stickles Glitter Glue and embossing powder for adding sparkle?
  • Embossing powder: Smooth, raised, glossy, glitter or metallic finish, heat-activated, best over stamped images for a refined look.
  • Stickles: Textured, sparkly surface with visible glitter particles, applied directly out of applicator bottle for adding finishing touches.

Many crafters use both: emboss a sentiment for elegance, then add Stickles accents for sparkle. They complement each other rather than compete.
