InstructionsÂ
If there's one thing I love about art, it's getting messy with paint. The mess means I'm in the zone and having fun. Today I'm sharing a fun way to get messy and play with transparencies in your art journal!
Step 1: Grab a few acrylic paints and a craft mat. Squeeze some paint onto the craft mat randomly.
Â
Step 2:Â Grab a transparency and smoosh the underside into the paint, dragging it around and spreading the paint onto the transparency. Let the paint dry.
Â
Step 3:Â Once dry, cut strips and shapes out of the painted transparencies.
Â
Step 4:Â Arrange the cut transparencies on a burlap page in the black journal. Use a stapler or mini attacher to attach the transparencies to the page.
Â
Step 5:Â Cut out some stamped images and arrange them on the page, along with a word or phrase. Attach these with a stapler/mini attacher.
Â
Step 6: Add some stenciling (honestly this should have been step 4, but I didn’t realize I wanted stenciling until I saw my transparencies arranged and attached!) in similar colors to those used on the transparencies (or opposite colors if you want a pop).
Â
Step 7:Â Splatter with gloss for a finishing touch!
