Experience the unique sensation of vibrant colors bursting to life with this tutorial. Follow along as Megan Whisner Quinlan uses the latest Dina Wakley MEdia neon paints to create these bright, colorful tags.
Instructions
There is nothing quite like the “pop” of radically, bright colors. Here we played with some colorful striping on tags for a beautiful effect. Follow along to see how we created these tags with the new Dina Wakley MEdia brights!
Step 1: Because we are creating a color band or spectrum, using a wide brush is handy. Here we chose the 2” wide Dina Wakley MEdia brush and white tags so the colors will remain bright.
Step 2: Spread out evenly a swath of each color on a glass mat or craft sheet. Dip your brush into the paint.
Step 3: Line the tags together so that they will each be included in your spectrum. Spread the paint in a giant wavy line across the tags.
Step 4: Add some splatters in the colors of your spectrum across the tags for extra texture.
Step 5: Use a Mini Ink Blending Tool to stencil some of the Coaster patterns onto your tags.
Step 6: Stamp images from Text Profiles onto your tags with Archival Ink (Jet Black).
Step 7: Add some doodles with paint or gel pens. Optional: add fabric ribbon to your tags in coordinating colors.
