Send someone "Happy Thoughts" with this cheery Tim Holtz Distress® Mini Inks card by Bobbi Smith.

Instructions

Hi everyone, Bobbi here. I’m glad to be with you, on the Ranger Projects Page today! I’m sharing this vibrant heat embossed Happy Thoughts card and tutorial! Hope you’ll join me.

Step 1: Lets get started. Working on the smooth side of a sheet of 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Distress Watercolor Cardstock swipe the Ranger Anti Static Pouch over the entire surface. This helps prepare for a static free heat embossing.

Step 2: Ink the Glorious Garden Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp using Picked Raspberry Archival Ink. Yes we are heat embossing with Distress Archival Ink! It embosses beautifully, it just dries a little faster than traditional embossing ink.

Step 3: Stamp the image onto watercolor cardstock, leaving a little white space in the lower right hand corner.

Step 4: That white space is where we will eventually stamp our greeting. Don't you just love that gorgeous vibrancy of the Pink Raspberry Distress Archival!

Step 5: Working quickly, place stamped image on a scrap piece of paper. Generously sprinkle Ranger Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder over the stamped image. Shake off excess Embossing Powder and return to jar (it's very important to use the super fine detail embossing powder with this extremely detailed image).

Step 6: Heat stamped image with heat tool to melt embossing powder.

Step 7: The melted embossing powder acts as a sealant. When we start adding other colors over it…it really protects the vibrancy of the original color.

Step 8: Now add more color to the embossed card panel using yellow and orange Distress Inks with blending tool w/foam. Start with lightest ink shade swirling on color and work your way to darkest.

Step 9: To give your card panel a little distressed look. Spritz a little water onto the stamped/embossed/colorized panel. Squeeze the trigger of the Distress Sprayer gently to release larger droplets of water onto panel. Then dry with heat tool, but be careful not to overheat embossed image.

Step 10: Ink the sentiment “Happy Thoughts” that comes with the Glorious Garden Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamp using Black Soot Archival Ink. Stamp the sentiment in lower right corner.

Step 11: Trim stamped panel a little and attach to a A2 Kraft card base with black cardstock panel, using Ranger Letter It White Foam Roll Tape.

I just love the bright colors, it’s so happy! I hope you give it a try!
