Getting into the holiday spirit early with this adorable Christmas card by Lieschen Harshbarger, featuring the latest stamps from Simon Hurley create! It's never too soon to start prepping for the festive season ahead.
Hi crafty friends! Today’s card tutorial features stamps and dies from Simon Hurley’s latest release. I love any time I get to make any project with a Christmas theme because it is my favorite holiday. As you follow me on this tutorial, I hope it gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!
Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White card stock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 5 ½” and then scoring it at 4 ¼”. Next, trim a front panel measuring about 4” x 5 1/4” out of Stark White cardstock.
Step 2: On the front panel piece, ink the background with Love Struck, Bee Sting, and Game Over inks using a blending tool.
Step 3: Next, ink the Brick background stamp with Shady ink and stamp it on the front panel piece.
Step 4: On a separate piece of card stock, stamp the door image from the Sketched Christmas stamp set and one of the Santa’s from the Sketched Santas stamp set with Archival Jet Black Ink. Then, heat emboss with clear embossing ink.
Step 5: Use the Ranger Ink Artist brushes to color the door image with the following inks: Clear Skies, No Diving, Midnight Snack, Breakup Blue, Guppy, Woof!, Viper, Slippery When Wet, Weeping Willow, and Bee Sting.
Step 6: For the Santa, use the following inks to color the image: Slippery When Wet, Sike!, Woof!, Piggyback, Shady, Cookie Dough, and Game Over.
Step 7: Use the coordinating dies from the Sketched Christmas and Sketched Santas stamp sets to die cut the images. Die cut extras and glue them together for dimension.
Step 8: Ink a piece of card stock with Shady ink, then trim about a 1-inch strip. This will be glued on the front panel piece to make it look like a sidewalk.
Step 9: After you glue the strip from step 8 on the front panel piece, glue the door image. Then, add foam adhesive to the Santa image and tape it on the front panel.
Step 10: On a piece of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock, heat emboss one of the sentiments from the Sketched Christmas stamp set with white embossing powder. Then, use the coordinating dies from the Sketched Christmas set to die cut the sentiment. Die cut extras and glue them together for dimension.
Step 11: Add Glossy Accents on the door windows, Icicle Stickles on the background, and Christmas Red Stickles on the small berries on the wreath above the door.
Step 12: Next, pair the card with a complimentary envelope. Now it’s ready to be sent to a loved one this Christmas season!
