Instructions
Hi crafty friends! Today I have a fun and easy card tutorial to share with you using the Purrfect Cats stamps and dies from Simon Hurley’s latest release. I really had a lot of fun making this card! I hope it gives you inspiration to do something fun and creative today!
Step 1: Begin by creating an A2 card base out of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock by trimming an 8½” x 11” piece of cardstock at 4¼” then scoring it at 5 ½”. Also trim two pieces of Stark White cardstock measuring 4” x 5¼”.
Step 2: Use Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Perfect Card Adhesive to glue one of the pieces of cardstock measuring 4” x 5¼” inside the card base.
Step 3: Place the cat images from the Purrfect Cat stamp set on Simon Hurley’s 5X6 acrylic block. Then, heat the stamping foam for about 15-20 seconds. Next, press the acrylic block onto the heated stamping foam to make an impression of the images.
Step 4: Next, use Sidewalk Chalk, Triple Berry, Crown Me, and Shady ink pads and rub each color onto the stamping foam. Then use the blending tool to eliminate any harsh lines from the ink pads.
Step 5: Use low tack tape to tape the stamping foam onto a larger acrylic block. Then, use Tim Holtz Distress Sprayer to spray some water on the inked stamping foam. Press stamping foam onto front panel piece to create an inked background.
Step 6: Next, use Dylusions Black Marble pen to add the whiskers on each cat. Then use Black Diamond Stickles to add the eyes and Ballerina Liquid Pearls to add the noses. Finally, use some Mermaid Tail Stickles to add some embellishment to the background.
Step 7: On a separate piece of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock, stamp three of the sentiments from the Purrfect Cat stamp set. Then, heat emboss with White Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Next trim each sentiment to tape them onto the inked background from step 5.
Step 8: Use Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Perfect Card Adhesive and glue the front panel from step 5 onto the card base.
Step 9: Add foam adhesive to the trimmed sentiments from step 7 and tape them to the card. Pair the card with a complimentary envelope and the card is ready to be mailed to a loved one this spooky season!
