Make your loved one's birthday shine with this stunning shimmery card by Lieschen Harshbarger, created using the newest Simon Hurley create. Solar Paste.
Instructions
Hi crafty friends! I am very excited to share with you today’s crafty project. I used Simon Hurley’s newest mixed media paste called Solar Paste. The colors are beautiful, and I love how different they look when using white or black cardstock. This card was a lot of fun to create! I hope you enjoy this card tutorial as much as I enjoyed making the card featured in it.
Step 1: Start by creating an A2 card base out of Stark White cardstock by trimming the 8½” x 11” cardstock at 5½”, then score at 4¼”. For the front panel piece, trim another piece of cardstock measuring about 4¼ x 5¼.”
Step 2: On the front panel piece, use the Warped Circles and the paste tool set to apply the Cross My Heart Solar Paste. Then, put it aside to dry.
Step 3: Use an oval die to die cut the shape out of Tim Holtz Distress Black Heavystock. Next, use the same stencil and paste tool set to apply Crocodile Tears Solar Paste. Then, put it aside to dry.
Step 4: Use Stark White card stock pieces and ink one piece with Prom Queen and Rosy Cheeks ink. The other piece with Minty Fresh and Tropical Tango. Next, use the Simon Hurley Spellbinders Darling Dahlias die set to die cut the beautiful flowers.
Step 5: Using the left over from the Minty Fresh and Tropical inked cardstock, die cut leaves using the same die set from step 4.
Step 6: Glue the flowers and leaves with Wendy Vecchi MAKE ART Perfect Card Adhesive.
Step 7: On a separate piece of white cardstock, stamp sentiments from the Birthday Basics stamp set using Prom Queen and Tropical Tango. Then quickly heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Then trim the corners with a corner puncher.
Step 8: Assemble all the pieces and glue them to the card base. To add more sparkle, add Sunflower liquid pearls to the center of the flowers and glossy accents on the petals. Use Crystal Stickles on the background to add more shine.
Step 9: Your card is finished! Just pair it with a colorful envelope and it is ready to be sent to a loved one.
