Hi crafty friends! Lieschen here bringing you another fun tutorial using products by Simon Hurley. I have enjoyed Simon’s release this month because it’s all about Christmas which is my favorite time of the year. For today’s card, I’ll be using the new Folk Art Ornaments Stamp & Die Set that include beautiful ornaments images and sentiments. I’m absolutely loving that each image and sentiment has a coordinating die! I truly hope you enjoy this tutorial as much as I loved making this card.
Step 1: Create an A2 card base out of Stark White Cardstock. Cut the 8½ x 11 cardstock down to 4¼ x 11. Then score at 5½. From the remaining extra 4¼ x 11 piece, cut it in half to make a front panel piece measuring 4¼ x 5½.
Step 2: On a piece of Stark White Cardstock, stamp some of the ornaments from the Folk Art Ornaments Stamp Set with Emboss It Clear Pad. Then heat emboss with Platinum Embossing Powder.
Step 3: Use the coordinating dies for the ornaments and run them through a die cutting machine. Next use low tack tape on the negative piece and tape the die cuts onto the negative piece. This will help to ink the ornaments with the mini blending tool.
Step 4: Use Midnight Snack, No Diving, Breakup Blue, Love Struck, Game Over, and Bee Sting to ink the beautiful ornaments.
Step 5: Use Overzealous, Later Gator, Fake Plant, and Bee Sting with a brush to color the holly. Use Over the Moon ink to color the bell part of the bell ornament.
Step 6: Once the ornaments are inked and colored, add some Stickles and Liquid Pearls to add more shine and embellishment to the ornaments.
Step 7: On a piece of Stark White Cardstock, stamp the pine branch image and heat emboss it with Platinum Embossing Powder.
Step 8: Once the images are heat embossed, ink each image with Later Gator and Fake Plant Inks. Then use a brush to color the stem with Weeping Willow.
Step 9: When all inking and coloring are done, use the coordinating dies for the pine branch image and run it through the die cutting machine to die cut each stamped image.
Step 10: On the front panel piece use the Backsplash Stencil to ink the background with Shooting Star and Slippery When Wet Inks.
Step 11: Next, stamp the string image from the Folk Art Ornaments Stamp Set on a separate piece of Stark White Cardstock. Then use the coordinating die and run it through a die cutting machine.
Step 12: Use the Make Art Station to hold your front panel piece in place while assembling the die cutting pieces. Then use glue and foam adhesive to tape them to the front panel piece.
Step13: Use Black Soot to stamp one of the sentiments from the Folk Art Ornaments and use the coordinating die and run it through a die cutting machine.
Step 14: Glue the front panel to the card base and add more Stickles to the front panel.
Step15: Pair this holiday card with an envelope and it’s ready to be sent to a loved one this holiday season!
