Archival Ink™ Fall Patchwork Background Card by Joy Baldwin

Check out how Joy Baldwin created this patchwork background using Wendy Vecchi and Ranger Archival Ink™ Pads to make this colorful fall birthday card.

Instructions

Hi, crafty friends. I have a really easy but cool technique for you today. I created a patchwork background using ink pads. I used Fall colors for this project but any color combo will work. Let’s get started.

Archival Ink Fall Patchwork Background Card Step 1

Step 1: Starting with a piece of white cardstock, stamp the Watercolor Blooms Background Stamp with Clear Ink and sprinkle on White Embossing Powder. Heat with a Heat Tool until shiny and melted.

Step 2: Start with Goldenrod Ink and rub the ink pad directly onto the embossed background. Only do it in a few spots. Then repeat that step with the Light House and English Ivy Inks, filling in the white spots and slightly overlapping the colors. Take a dry paper towel and gently buff the excess ink off of the embossed flower images.

Step 2a: Archival Ink Fall Patchwork Background Card Now take the Sundazed Ink and lightly go over the whole background, then do the same thing with the Coffee Ink. This tones down all of the colors and darkens the background.

Step 3: Take another piece of White Cardstock and take the Coffee Ink directly to the paper again, covering the whole background. Ink in one direction and then in the other direction.

Step 4: Stamp the sentiment from the Cake Walk stamp set with Jet Black  on White Cardstock and trim it down. Adhere that with Foam Adhesive to the embossed background. Add that with Foam Adhesive to the Coffee-inked background.
