Blended Fall Sky Card by Laura Volpes

Create a beautifully blended skyscape by combining the various shades of Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks. Laura Volpes shares with how you can create this background which creates the perfect scene for this fall card.

Instructions

Blended Fall Sky Card Step 1

Step 1:  Trim Distress Watercolor Cardstock  to 5x3.75". Create a sky background by blending  Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks. Use  Thistle,  Red Geranium, Orange Blossom, and Sunflower. Blend with  Distress Blending Brushes for a smoother blend.

 

Blended Fall Sky Card Step 2

Step 2: Create a grassy border using the stencil in the Wendy Vecchi Autumn Greetings Set. Blend  Potting Soil ink for a silhouette effect.

 

Blended Fall Sky Card Step 3

Step 3: Stamp images from the Autumn Greetings stamp set on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Cardstock. Use Archival Ink in Vintage Photo and watercolor the images using Wendy Vecchi Blendable Dye Inks. The colors used for these images are the following:  Potting Soil,  Orange Blossom, Sunflower and  Red Geranium.

Once the images are dry, die cut them with the coordinating dies.

Step 4: Cut some more  Distress® Watercolor Cardstock to 4.25x5.5". Create a woodgrain effect by lightly swiping your Potting Soil Ink Pad across the panel.

Blended Fall Sky Card Step 5

Step 5:  Stamp your sentiment with Archival Ink in Ground Espresso. Use the  Perfect Stamp Positioner Set for accurate positioning of the greeting. Glue the elements together to complete the card design.

Blended Fall Sky Card Step 6

Step 6:  Embellish the card with Wendy Vecchi Liquid Pearls in the color Sunflower. Use tools in the Perfect Stylus Set to get perfectly rounded dots every time.
