Ya’ll, I don’t think you understand how over-the-moon EXCITED I am about this new journal! I’m an odd duck in that I have specific types of journals for certain types of art, and this journal checks all the boxes for what I have been missing for ages. It’s the size of the journal and the watercolor weight paper that has me so giddy. Let’s crack it open and jump into the first journal spread (that is naturally not on the first page)!

Step 1: Gather a few collage papers and layer them onto the page with gel medium. Once the gel medium dries, spread a thin layer of white gesso over the top

Step 2: Add paint layers using a paint brush and various acrylic paints. Here, Taffy, Papaya, Stoked, and Cheddar were used along with white gesso. Try to leave some areas thinner so that some of the collage papers underneath peak through.

Step 3: While the paint is still wet, use a scribble stick to add some aesemic writing and marks to the page. Don’t be afraid to scrape through some of the painty layers to reveal what’s underneath.

Step 4: Once the paint is dry, add more layers by spraying Gloss through a stencil. Here, Cocoa was used.

Step 5: While the gloss is drying, stamp some images onto cardstock and cut them out. Create your focal point(s) by layering stamped images, collage tissue, and various collage papers. Adhere these to the page with Media Glue.

Step 6: Finish off the page with some splatters!
