Hello again, my artsy friends! I’m so excited about the new Intense Colour Caykes and Sticks from Dylusions and I can’t stop playing with them! There’s something comforting and nostalgic about coloring, and using these tools is an elevated, grown up version of doing just that. Follow along with me and let’s have some fun with color!
Step 1: Open to a Kraft page in your large creative journal and trace the large Martha’s Most Massive Mat Stencil on your page using a pencil.
Step 2: Use your Dylusions Water Brush to wet the Laidback Lilac Cayke and load your brush with the pigment. Color in your first row of circles on the page. Continue to color in each row of circles with a different color cayke starting with Postbox Red, then Tangerine Dream, Pure Sunshine, and lastly Lemon Zest.
Step 3: Take out the single daisy stamps from the Stamper’s Anonymous Daisy Dream Set and load one up with Dylusions Archival Ink in Crushed Grape. Stamp the middle of your purple circles with a daisy. Continue to stamp each row of circles with a daisy in the corresponding color ink. Cherry Pie Ink on top of the Postbox Red circles, Peony Blush ink on the Tangerine Dream circles, Desert Sand ink on the Pure Sunshine circles, and Lemon Zest on the Lemon Zest circles.
Step 4: With a black 5M Uni Posca pen, outline the traced stencil lines from step 1. Draw dashes or lines around the outside edges of the circles and use the pen to color in the diamond shaped areas in the center, as well as the triangle shaped areas around the border.
Step 5: Splatter your page with Flip Cap Paint in White Linen and set aside to dry.
Step 6: Find an image from Collage Sheet Set #1 with a yellow background and use the Martha’s Mat stencil to trace a circle over your image. Cut out your circle and outline it with the black marker. Find more images that correspond with each of the colors used and repeat the process of tracing, cutting out, and outlining.
Step 7: Glue down your collage circles with the Dylusions glue stick and outline the black areas of your page with the White 5M Uni Posca Paint Pen.
Step 8: Find the quote that reads “I’m starting to think I will never be old enough to know better” from the Black Bigger Back Chat Set #2 and attach it to your page.
Step 9: Outline your quote with the white paint pen to make it stand out and add a little pizazz to your layout by applying Designer Series Stickles in Stardust to the black areas. Your page is complete!
