This project focuses on creating a vibrant journal page using the new ink sprays by Miranda van den Bosch. While Dylusions ink sprays are already known for their bright colours, the new neon shades are even more intense and eye-catching. They are luscious, gorgeous and so bright, they truly pop off the page.

Step 1: Lightly spray water on your page to help the ink flow and blend more easily. Select 3 to 4 colours and spray each colour twice, applying 5 to 6 sprays per spot to ensure full coverage.

Step 2: Remove the spray bottle top and wave it above the page to add a few drops to the wet ink. This will create some extra texture.

Step 3: Place a second page on top of the first page and press firmly using a paper towel roll. The neon inks behave differently from the regular spray inks. Using a paper towel roll to take off the excess of ink, will mute the colours (view the left page in the second image) while air drying or using a heat tool will keep the colours vibrant (view the left page in the second image).

Step 4: Choose a few stencils and place them on your page. Lightly spray ink through the stencil (1 or 2 sprays will do). Too much ink will cause smudging under the stencil.

Step 5: Use some background stamps or leaf stamps with the Dylusions Archival Inks in matching colours to add more texture to your page.

Step 6: Select images and arrange them on your page. Glue them down with the Dylusions glue.

Step 7: Add neon inks to a palette or a waterbrush and colour all the images. For a skintone, blend vanilla custard with rose quartz and a drop of laidback lilac.

Step 8: Use a black Posca marker to colour any parts of the images you want to be black.

Step 9: Add more layers of colour to the images by using the Caykes & Sticks, Posca markers and colouring pencils.

Step 10: Use a black Posca marker to outline the images, the bigger backchat quote and use a purple Posca for the leaves. Add some white dots to the background (the colours will look even more vibrant) and add some highlight details to the images.
Once all layers and details are complete, your page is finished. You will have a lively and colourful journal page.
