Dylusions Pastel Rainbow Notecards by Jess Peters

Soft pastel rainbows, playful splatter, and a handmade touch make these notecards a joy to create and send! 🌈 Jess Peters uses the latest Dylusions Pastel Paints to craft a set of notecards that come together quickly with simple techniques. Easy to customize and perfect for birthdays, thank yous, or just because.

Instructions

Hello again, my artsy friends! I love having homemade cards available at the ready to give to family and friends. And since Dylusions released some gorgeous pastel paint colors, I
thought now would be the perfect time to make some! These came together super fast and easy and each one is totally unique. Follow along to see how quickly you can create a
beautiful card for your loved one that’s sure to brighten their day!

Step 1: Remove a couple pages from your Dylusions Creative Journal and cut them into 4 4 ½ inch square panels.

Step 2: Place one drop each of Dylusions paint in Coral Reef, Peach Parfait, and Antique Cream along the side of one of your panels. Use a scraper or an old gift card to swoop the paint to the opposite side and create a rainbow shape.

Step 3: Repeat the process to fill the panel with rainbows and continue on all 4 of your square panels. Don’t worry if the rainbows aren’t perfect! (Tip: the larger your dots of paint, the larger/longer the rainbow will be)

Step 4: Water down some Dylusions paint in Mint Tea and splatter it along the edges of your panels with a paint brush. Allow them to dry completely and repeat with Powder Blue and Lilac Haze allowing each color to dry in between. (Tip: use the Dylusions brush cleaning bowl to easily rinse your brush out after each color)

Step 5: Ink the edges of your panels with Archival Ink in Squeezed Orange. Then run a 5M size black Posca Paint Pen along the edges as well to further define the panels.

Step 6: Rip the top and side of a spare piece of kraft paper and write 4 sentiments on it with a 1M size black Posca pen.

Step 7: Tear around each sentiment and stick them onto your squares with Dylusions glue. Cut 4 pieces of kraft paper down to 5x10 inches and fold in half to create a 5 inch square card base. Glue your panels to the center of each kraft card base.

Step 8: Apply a little sparkle as a finishing touch to your notecard set with Dylusions Stardust Stickles.
