Instructions

Step 1: Cut Distress Watercolor Card 3 5/8” x 8 1/2”. Stamp Illustrated Garden Flowers with Black Soot Archival Ink. Stamp the Flowers at the bottom as if they were growing up from the bottom of the card.

Step 2: Stamp Butterflies from the Flutter Set using Black Soot Archival Ink. Keep in mind the message will be stamped in the middle of the card later.

Step 3: Color the Flowers and Butterflies with Distress Markers. Color the Distress Marker onto your Craft Sheet, pick up the ink with the Detail Waterbrush and color the images. Dry with a heat tool between layers.

Step 4: Shade the flowers as you see in nature for a more natural look. Dry with a heat tool.

Step 5: Apply a thin layer of Micro Glaze with your finger only over the Flowers and Butterflies. The Micro Glaze with act as a resist. Be careful not to get the Micro Glaze to far out as it will create a halo effect.

Step 6: Position Layering Stencil over the background randomly. Apply a small amount of Micro Glaze to an Ink Blending Tool with Foam, work the Micro Glaze into the Foam using a swirling motion on your Craft Sheet then apply Micro Glaze through the stencil. DO NOT HEAT. Throw away foam when done so not to contaminate your Ink Pads.

Step 7: Spray background with water using the Distress Sprayer then spray background with Distress Spray Stain. Let sit for a few several seconds.

Step 8: Blot off excess spray with a dry cloth. Dry with a heat tool. Once you heat the Micro Glaze it will dissipate into the cardstock and the resist effect will no longer work.

Step 9: Spitz background with Distress Mica Spray for a little added sparkle. Dry with a heat tool.

Step 10: Ink the edges with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Step 11: Stamp message with Black Soot Archival Ink. Assemble card with a black mat, add stitching, tie twine around card with a bow and adhere to folded card.
