Make-It™ Chic Birthday Mini Card Set by Lauren Bergold

In this tutorial, Lauren Bergold creates an adorable set of four mini cards using the Make-It™ Chic Birthday Stamp Set and Sprinkle Hearts Stencil, paired with four of the newest Archival Ink colors. These chic mini cards are perfect for celebrating friendships, sharing a little love, or tucking into gifts for an extra special touch.

Instructions

When it comes to actual cakes, I try to stick to one at a time... usually chocolate. But when stamping cakes, I see NO reason at all not try every possible color/flavor combination; especially since the new release of Archival Inks has such delicious shades!

Step 1: Use the Stickles and Liquid Pearls Confetti Template to create custom dots in the following colors: Truffle, Kiwi, Ballerina and Marigold. Set the template aside on a flat surface and allow to dry completely, ideally overnight. When the dots are dry, flex the template to remove them; or use the wide scraper from Simon Hurley's Paste Tools Set.

Step 2: Stamp the cake from Make-It's Chic Birthday Stamp Set four times with Emboss It Clear Ink and sprinkle on Ranger White Embossing Powder. Melt the powder with the Heat It Craft Tool and set the images aside until completely cool.

Step 3: Using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and a clean Domed Foam for each, apply one shade of ink to each cake: Dark Roast (chocolate cake); Sand Castle (dulce de leche); Sweet Treat (strawberry cake); and Avocado Toast (matcha). Lightly swipe the embossed images with an alcohol wipe to get that bright white look back on the embossed bits. Allow the images to dry thoroughly before cutting out with scissors.

Step 4: Stamp the cluster of three small candles four times and emboss with White Embossing Powder. Apply the four ink colors from step three (Dark Roast, Sand Castle, Sweet Treat and Avocado Toast) to the clusters, wipe off excess, then cut out with scissors.

Step 5: Trim a piece of Stark White Cardstock into four 3" squares and round the corners, if desired. Place the Make-It Sprinkle Hearts Stencil over each and apply the same four colors of Archival Ink as used previously. Take care to wipe off the stencil between colors, using an alcohol wipe or a paper towel with a little bit of rubbing alcohol.

Step 6: From Stark White Cardstock, create four 3.25" squares. Ink the edges using the same four Archival shades one more time. Mat the colored panels on very thin mats of Stark White Cardstock.

Step 7: Stamp the four small sentiments from the Make-It Charmed Stamp Set (Bestie, Friend, Forever and Love You) with Clear Emboss it Ink and emboss with White Embossing Powder. Apply the four ink colors one last time; wipe off excess, then trim into neat flags.

Step 8: Stack the stamped and stenciled images as follows, so that each card has one element featuring each of the four main colors (Dark Roast, Sand Castle, Sweet Treat and Avocado Toast). Thus, each will have a cake in one shade; a set of candles and matching sentiment in a second color; a panel with hearts in a third color; and a solid panel of the final shade, matted on white. Add the enamel dots made in Step 1 to the four ribbons on each cake using Dina Wakley MEdia Glue.

Step 9: Assembly: Add one stack from Step 8 to each of four 4" square cards made from Dina Wakley Kraft Cardstock. Decorate an A2 envelope for each, if desired; and add an interior sentiment, if you'd like.

Step 10: Send these sweet mini cards to four friends OR... make them into a little gift set and bestow upon a friend or family member who needs to build their greeting card stash!
