Simon Hurley create. Woodland Wildlife Fall Card by Cassie Trask

Fall critters and rich autumn colors make the perfect combination! Cassie Trask created these woodland-inspired cards using the Simon Hurley create. Woodland Wildlife Stamp Set, Diamonds Stencil, Faded Diamonds Background Stamp, and Stellar Inks. The mix of teal, green, and brown creates a bold geometric pattern that pairs beautifully with these adorable woodland animals.

Need inspiration for masculine cards? These designs are a great place to start!

Instructions

Hello, crafty friends!  Are you ever in need a few more masculine cards? Those can sometimes be a struggle, but not today! I decided to make a set of cards for fall, and I just love how they turned out. Let’s get into the cards!

Step 1: Trim a piece of Stark White Cardstock down to 6” x 6”. Using the biggest diamond pattern from the Diamond Layering Stencils, blend on some Fore! ink with a blending brush. Clean off the stencil.

Step 2: Using the same large diamond pattern, shift the stencil to fill in the rest of the white space by blending on some Loch Ness ink with a blending brush. The stencil will have to be moved around to fill in all the spaces.

Step 3: Take the second smallest diamond pattern and position the stencil over the Fore! blended corners. Blend some Weeping Willow with a blending brush.

Step 4: Using the smallest diamond pattern from the Diamonds stencil, position that over the Loch Ness blended corners and spread Refined Copper Astro Paste through the stencil using one of the Silicone Paste Spreaders. Set that aside to dry.

Step 5: Cut 3 pieces of Stark White Cardstock down to 4 ¼” x 5 ½”. Ink up the Faded Diamonds Background stamp with Weeping Willow and stamp a panel. Repeat that for the remaining panels.

Step 6: Stamp the 3 of the animals from the Woodland Wildlife stamp set using the clear ink pad.  Cover those images with white embossing powder when the ink is still wet, and then heat set the images using the Ranger Heat It Craft Tool.

Step 7: Onto another piece of Stark White Cardstock, blend some Fore! ink, and then stamp the sentiment 3 times using Black Widow Ink.

Step 8: Die cut the images using the matching dies, and trim down the sentiments.

Step 9: Trim your 6” x 6” blended background down into 3 equal pieces that each measure 2” x 5 ½”.

Step 10: Assemble each card panel using liquid glue and Clear Foam Double Stick tape. Attach each panel to a card base that measures 5 ½” x 8 ½” and was scored at 4 ¼”.
