Hello Makers! For my second assignment, I am creating a Christmas wreath. I am using the newly released of mini Distress Oxide Inks. Let’s stamp on a black background, using one of my favourite cardstocks from Ranger, the Distress Black Heavystock. This black cardstock creates an amazing chalkboard effect, perfect with the Distress Oxide Inks.
Let’s begin by gathering all materials (colours and stamps are personal choice).

Step 1: Cut out a 6x6" panel from Ranger Distress Black Heavystock (smaller or bigger will work too). Trace a circle lightly with a pencil.

Step 2: Place the cut black cardstock on the stamping platform. Divide the circle in four quarters, to place the chosen stamps. Choose a few stamps to create the wreath (could be nature theme, Christmas theme or both). Place the stamps onto those four points. The platform lid will pick them up.

Step 3: Ink one stamp at a time (if the colour ink is different for each element). The wreath is slowly built stamp by stamp, starting from those four points.

Step 4: Once inked, water mist can be used on your stamp for a watercolour effect. For a sharper print, just ink your stamp directly.

Step 5: The mini Distress Ink Pads allows for inking partial area of a stamp. Here is an example of the good use of the mini pads.

Step 6: Tools can be used (like brushes or Q-tips) on tiny details in order to apply multiple colours on the same stamp. And ink can then be removed from specific areas of the stamp, with a cotton cloth. PS: Once stamped, be careful while working on your project, because Distress Oxide Ink takes time to dry, especially on this Heavy Black Cardstock (semi porous).

Step 7: This step is optional. An Idea-ology photo booth portrait was added and placed at the center of the wreath. It was lightly tinted with Distress Archival Inks.

Step 8: Distress Picket Fence re-inker is used for creating the splatter. No water needed. For a vivid splatter, use Distress Paint in Picket Fence or white gesso.

Step 9: Finally, glue it to a card base, if you wish!!!
Happy crafting and have fun with the newly released Distress Mini Oxide Inks. Enjoy the magic of the Holiday season! Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Making 2026!
