Hi there, crafty friends, it’s Cheiron Brandon here with a journal spread for the New Year using a soft wintery color palette.
I used Dina Wakley MEdia Paints and Scribble Sticks in Night, Marine, Elephant, Rosy, and Mineral to create this wintery look and set an intention for the New Year.
Step 1: Using a dry paintbrush, add Mineral Paint through the Giant Stars stencil to both pages to create a background.
Step 2: Continue to build your background by stamping with a Night Scribble Stick.
Step 3: To do this, spray your stamp with water using a Distress Sprayer, scribble the stick onto the stamp, spray again and stamp.
Step 4: Create a wash of Marine paint on the left side of your page to be the ground for your focal point (which will be the face image). Spray some water into your paint and mix up with your brush to create the wash. Let dry.
Step 5: Stamp the face image from the Refuse to be Ordinary Stamp set onto cardstock and cut out using Archival Jet Black Ink. Using washes of paint in Rosy and Elephant, color in and shade the face. Adhere it over the wash you created in the previous step using Ultra Thick Gel Medium.
Step 6: Stamp the block shapes from the Be Willing set. Using an Ink Blending Tool with Foam, dab it into Night paint, dab off onto glass mat or other work surface, then apply to the stamp and stamp.
Step 7: Take a small piece of cardstock and paint with the Rosy wash. Let dry, stamp with the Say Yes stamp from the Refuse to be Ordinary set and adhere into the journal using Heavy Gel Medium.
Step 8: Add a Tim Holtz Small talk sticker to the journal using Heavy Gel Medium.
