Simon Hurley has been creating his whole life. As a kid, he bounced between origami, crocheting, sculpting, and anything else he could make with his hands. Everything changed when he discovered cardmaking and realized each card was a small canvas he could use to brighten someone’s day.
By age 10, Simon was obsessed with inks and mixed media and quickly grew into stamping, embossing, and coloring. Crafting also became his safe place. Throughout middle and high school, he struggled with bullying and feeling out of place, and creating something joyful helped him get through some of his hardest moments.
Sharing his work online connected him with the crafting community, which became the first place where he truly felt supported. That encouragement built the foundation for his career.
At 16, Simon partnered with Ranger Ink to launch his own product line. Today, his Simon Hurley create. brand is known for innovative texture pastes, bold Stellar Inks, playful stamps, stencils, and trusted creative mediums used by makers around the world.
He later expanded his universe with Spellbinders, designing coordinating dies, embossing folders, BetterPress plates, and die-cutting tools that bring extra personality and dimension to his style.
Simon now shares his passion through YouTube tutorials, encouraging makers to explore, experiment, and have fun while crafting. His mission is simple: to spark creativity and help others feel the same sense of belonging that crafting gave him when he needed it most.
