I have been doing a lot of traveling recently, and have gotten a ton of inspiration from the areas I've visited. I've been sketching different landscape scenes in my art journals, and now I'm super excited to try out a landscape spread using glosses. P.S. I’m still in love with this new watercolor journal. I’ve got one going for acrylics, and another for watercolors. It’s perfect!

Step 1: Using Gel and Ultra Thick Gel Mediums, add various collage papers to your spread. I chose to use both painted papers and collage tissue.

Step 2: Spread a layer of gesso over the spread, and then scribble into the gesso with a stabilo pencil to add texture.

Step 3: Using the #12 round brush, paint a landscape with glosses. Here I went with a mountainscape and used Marine, Olive, and Cocoa. Using white or sand gloss, paint over some of the negative space.

Step 4: To add some interest, when the glosses are mostly dry, spray a lighter color through a stencil onto the page.

Step 5: Stamp some birds onto cardstock and cut them out. Once the glosses are dry, stamp some scribbly birds into the sky area of the spread.

Step 6: Create your focal point on the page using some stamped birds, a phrase from the Typed Ledger Papers, and some cloth or fibers (here cheesecloth was used). Adhere to the spread using Media Glue. Finally, splatter the spread with sparkly gloss.
