So many awesome new Dina Wakley MEdia goodies came out in 2024, I just had to use some of my faves for this year-in-review page. With everything from new glosses and coaster stencils to transparencies and tags, there was so much to choose from! I also wanted to revisit some of my favorite techniques from this last year. I hope you enjoy!
Step 1: Apply a thin layer of gesso to a blank page in your journal. Drop some Glosses onto the page and mix them by either spreading them with a wet brush or spraying with water (or both!). Here Mustard and Raspberry were used.
Step 2: While still wet, spray another color of gloss through a stencil. Here, Cocoa was used.
Step 3: Add some journaling onto the page with a scribble stick, thinking about this past year. Maybe you have a lot to say, or maybe, like me, it can be summarized in a few meaningful words.
Step 4: To add a sparkle, stencil with a metallic color.
Step 5: In contrasting colors, use a mini blending tool and a mask to cover the page.
Step 6: Using the same techniques from steps one and two, create a tag or two using the same colors from your background.
Step 7: Cut out some images from a transparency and add some white gesso or paint to the back to make them opaque.
Step 8: Add some collage papers to the page and assemble your focal point using the tag and transparency images. Add a phrase and finish with some metallic splatters.
