Small Canvas
Mid October we had a wonderful new release of more dark Dyamond Rocks and some awesome boards, like the skulls. I love spooky items all year round and the skulls will look great on a canvas with some tiny lights attached.

Step 1: Take a small canvas and add a blend of different paints to make a background. Use a babywipe to add the paints to the canvas. Colours like black marble, white linen and shimmer rainy day will make a more spooky background. Use the coffins and webs stencils to add some structure to your background. Apply the paints through the stencils using a mini blender tool.

Step 2: Take the medium dabber and add a layer of medium on the skull board. Take a white sheet, fold in half and sprinkle a copious amount of Dyamond rocks on the board you just covered in medium to get a good coverage. Pick up the board carefully and tap the excess of the rocks off and pour all the rocks (that didn’t stick to the board) back into the jar. Melt the rocks using the heat tool. As soon as it has melted add another layer of Dyamond rocks (and pour back the excess of rocks that don’t stick) and melt this layer as well with the heat tool. Repeat if necessary for a third time.

Step 3: Add all the new colours to the skulls. Make a mixture of all 4 colours on one skull by adding them colour by colour with a tiny spoon.

Step 4: Use the Dylusions black marble inkpad to colour the sides of the boards and colour the eyes and nostrils using a posca 3M black paint pen.

Step 5: Glue down the skulls on the canvas with some Dylusions glue. Turn over the canvas press down the skulls firmly but also carefully to prevent breaking the just embossed layer. Hold for a few seconds to let the glue dry.

Step 6: Use the haberdashery scissors 5” and poke holes in the eyes of the skulls.

Step 7: Turn over the canvas again and stick the tiny lights from Idea-ology, through the holes (made in step 6). Tape down the light so they stay in place. Put some black card stock underneath the lights that are not used in the holes so that they won’t shine through on the front side.

Step 8: Switch on the lights and your spooky canvas is ready.
