Dylusions Stay Classy Journal Page by Jess Peters

In this tutorial, Jess Peters creates an eye-popping Dylusions journal page bursting with bold colors and layers! Using Dyamond Pebbles as a resist, she brings couture images to life with Dylusions Ink Sprays.

Instructions

Hi there, friends! I’m back with another bright Dylusions Journal page and this one is so much fun to create. One of my favorite techniques is using Dyamond Pebbles as a resist for the gorgeous ink sprays! Using them to add bold color to couture images make the perfect focal point for this layout. Follow along and have fun creating!

Step 1:
On a blank page in your Large Dylusions Creative Journal apply Dyamond Medium through the small Drip Drops stencil using the dabber. Focus on applying it in a small section like a corner of your page.

Step 2:
Apply Dylusions Black Dyamond Pebbles to the page and tap off excess. Use the Ranger Heat It Craft Tool to emboss.

Step 3:
Repeat steps 1 & 2 working in small sections at a time until the border of your page is covered. Leave the center blank since you’ll be covering it later on.

Step 4: Once your page is cooled down, lightly mist it with water, then apply puddles of Dylusions Ink Sprays in Lemon Zest and Pure Sunshine covering the page. Place a scrap piece of paper on top of your page and rub lightly. Remove the scrap paper, blot with a paper towel, and set your journal aside to dry.

Step 5:
From the Couture Stamp Set, Walk in the Park Duo, stamp the polka dot dress, head scarf, and stay classy quote onto a separate sheet from your journal with the Dyamond Medium Stamp Pad. Coat your stamped images with Black Dyamond Pebbles tap off excess. Use the Ranger Heat It Craft Tool to emboss.

Step 6:
Using your Dylusions Ink Sprays, add color to your stamped images. The Dyamond Pebbles will resist the sprays making them super easy to color in!

Step 7:
On the back of the packaging for your stamps there is a fun bordered image and instead of throwing it away, cut it out and paint the inside with Dylusions FlipCap Paint in Black Marble. Apply 2 coats to get a nice, even finish.

Step 8:
Once your stamped images are dry, cut them out along with a head and neck from Collage Sheets Set #2. Glue your images and quote to the black panel that you made.

Step 9:
Using Dylusions Glue, adhere the panel to the center of the page.

Step 10:
With the purple marker from the Uni Posca Metallic Paint Marker Set, color over some of the black embossed circles. Add some circles to the black panel as well to flow with the background.

Step 11:
For a few finishing touches, draw a sketchy border and details on the purple circles with the Black and White Dylusions Paint Pens. Your layout is complete!
