Please note: Enamel Accents take time to dry completely, particularly when dispensed as larger, solid dots. You might like to create your Googly Eyes ahead of time, in a separate session from making the card. If you're brave and have a steady hand, you can create your googly eyes directly on your card; for this tutorial, the eyes have been made on a plastic-coated template and were arranged and glued onto the card later.

Step 1: Gather Supplies: Ranger Enamel Accents (Black and White); Magenta, Glow Up and Black Embossing Powder; Aubergine, Graphite and Cobalt Archival Inks; Dina Wakley MEdia Scribbly Ravens & Block Alphas; Simon Hurley create Moroccan Tile Background and Fall Sampler Photopolymer Stamp Set; Distress Black Heavystock. Ranger Stickles Confetti Template (see link below).

Step 2: Print out the Ranger Stickles Confetti Template (available here: https://rangerink.com/blogs/projects/stickles-confetti) and laminate it or place it under a clear transparency sheet. Use the uniform circles to create a bunch of small discs with the White Enamel Accents; these will be the bases of the googly eyes. Make a few pairs of larger eyes, as well, taking care to leave a space about 1.5 times the size of your circles all the way around each one, as they will flatten and spread a bit as they dry. Place the template on a flat surface to dry completely, ideally overnight.

Step 3: Add pupils to the googly eyes by applying a smaller dot of Black Enamel Accents to each. You can make pairs of symmetrical eyes with centered pupils of similar size and shape; or go wild and make each one different... these are Halloween creatures, so anything goes! These smaller additions will dry more quickly, but be sure to place them on a flat surface and give them enough time to harden. When the googly eyes are completely dry, you can flex the template or use tweezers or paste tools to gently remove them.

Step 4: Stamp Dina's right-facing, outlined Scribbly Raven in Emboss It Clear Ink on a piece of Stark White Cardstock, sprinkle with Ranger Black Embossing Powder, and melt with the Heat It Craft Tool. Allow the image to cool completely.

Step 5: Smoosh some Aubergine Archival Ink onto your Craft Sheet and use a waterbrush full of Isopropyl Alcohol to paint the Scribbly Raven. Mix in a little bit of Cobalt with the Aubergine to add shading on the raven's belly, wing and tail feathers. Add a couple of coats of Graphite on the raven's feet and beak.

Step 6: When the raven is dry, cut out neatly with scissors. Since the background will be black, if necessary, fill in any white space around the image with a black brush pen. Optional: Add a small dot of Black Enamel Accents to the raven's eye and set aside.

Step 7: Stamp Simon's Moroccan Tile Background Stamp on a piece of Distress Black Heavystock in clear Emboss It Ink. Sprinkle on Glow Up Embossing Powder and heat with the Craft Tool. Allow the image to cool completely. Trim to a square that's just a sliver less than 5.5".

Step 8: Stamp "Happy Halloween" from Simon's Fall Sampler Clear Stamp Set and "BOO" from Dina's Block Alphas on scraps of Distress Black Matte Alcohol Ink Cardstock in clear Emboss It Ink. Sprinkle on Magenta Embossing Powder and heat with the Craft Tool. Allow the images to cool completely. Trim each word and letter into a neat rectangle.

Step 9: Assembly: On a 5" square of Distress Black Heavystock, add the raven and the sentiment towards the bottom of the panel with foam tape. Arrange googly eyes around the rest of the panel and attach with small dots of Glossy Accents. Affix the panel to the Moroccan Tile mat with Perfect Card Adhesive and add to a 5.5" square card made from Stark White Cardstock.

Step 10: Stamp a sentiment inside the card, if desired; sign it... or write a mysterious message... and mail today to a Halloween-loving friend!
