Hot Mess by Victoria Hills

Hi, it’s Victoria…I’m delighted to be here today, taking you through the way I put together this Dylusions Mixed Media Journaling Tag. I really like this quote by Mindy Kaling and have wanted to incorporate it into a journal spread or tag for a while. I knew that a vibrant colour scheme would suit it down to the ground, and that the Dylusions Ink Sprays and Paints would lend themselves to it perfectly – it never ceases to amaze me how the colours pop. I’ll often stencil over the ink sprays with the matching paint colours: you get some great effects. I loved making this tag – I hope it inspires you to try something this vibrant too!

Phenomenal Woman by Victoria Hills

Hi, it’s Victoria…I’m so pleased to be with you on the blog today, sharing this Dylusions journal tag that I made. I’ll often use a short quote or a few words or phrases from a poem into my work, however when I found this poem by Maya Angelou, I loved it so much I wanted to capture the whole thing. The large Dylusions journal tag was the perfect size to enable me to do this, and the ‘Jay’ silhouette complements the poem’s sentiment perfectly.

Courage Journal Layout by Victoria Hills

Hi, it’s Victoria…I’m delighted to be here on the Ranger Ink blog, sharing another page with you – this time in my Dylusions Square Journal. When I came across the last two lines in a poem by the American writer and author Mary Anne Radmacher, I knew I wanted to create something around them. A lion image seemed to be the perfect compliment to the first line in particular: ‘Courage doesn’t always roar’. For me, the beauty of Dylusions paints is the way in which I can use a blend of colours to create a unique background that reflects the colours in my chosen image.

Constellation by Victoria Hills

Hi, it’s Victoria…I’m really looking forward to sharing my ‘Constellation’ journal page with you. There were a few things that influenced this page…I love using silhouettes – particularly when I’m working on a black background – I think they add real impact. This ‘Jay’ silhouette looked quite pensive, and having lost my dad unexpectedly to cancer at the end of last year, it really resonated with me. Dad’s star sign was Leo, so I put the constellation together with the beautiful words of an Eskimo Proverb and made this page. Dylusions paints look stunning when they’re used on the black journal and journaling tags – or a solid Black Marble painted background. If you haven’t experimented with them on a black surface yet, then I’d really recommend it. I hope this journal page inspires you to give it a go!
